Captain America propaganda poster concepts - 2011
Last year, a marketing firm contacted me about producing 3 propaganda posters to help promote the Captain America movie, and I whipped up these rough concept sketches for their pitch meeting with Paramount. They wanted a solo Cap poster, one with the Howling Commandos, and a Hydra recruitment poster. A fun exercise, though sadly the job didn’t happen. While I didn’t have the time for 3 finished pieces, I’d enlisted Jock and Dave Johnson to do the other 2 posters (with their own concepts) and I’m sure those would have been really spectacular.

Forgot to post this earlier in the week, for Lady Gaga’s birthday. This is a strip I illustrated in 2010 for GQ’s End of the Year special, written by the GQ staff and art directed by Benjamin Bours, with lettering by Jared Fletcher. Enjoy!

New York Comic-Con 2011 Schedule

I will be in Artists Alley, table J1, next to real deal comics peeps like Jared Fletcher, Andy MacDonald, Ivan Brandon, Davide Gianfelice, Ron Wimberly, Julian Lytle, and Sara Pichelli. Swing by and say hello! I’ll have prints and postcards available. I will be working on a few long-standing commissions at the show, but sadly, I will NOT be able to take on any additional commissions this year. I’m very sorry about this, but with all the Wonder Woman coverage (you’ll see) and impromptu interviews, it looks like it’ll be a pretty hectic weekend. As always, I will be doing free head sketches at the DC booth. Here’s my signing and panel schedule:

Thursday 10/13
4-5pm – SIGNING @ DC (Booth #1254)

Friday 10/14
1-2pm - SIGNING @ DC ( Booth #1254)
4-5pm - SIGNING @ Shirts For A Cure [Booth #241]

Saturday 10/15
12-1pm JUSTICE LEAGUE panel @ Room 1A10
2-3pm – SIGNING @ DC (Booth #1254)

Sunday 10/16
3-4pm – SIGNING @ DC (Booth #1254)

I’ll have some updates next week, spotlighting Shirts for a Cure and some upcoming fundraising auctions for the CBLDF and Women of Wonder Day.

Batman:Black and White statue
This statue, designed by me and sculpted by Paul Harding, goes on sale today. Here is my original turnaround, which Paul brilliantly brought into 3 dimensions. I couldn’t be happier with the final product.

Come help us celebrate the release of Wonder Woman #1 this Saturday, 9/24 at 8pm at Bergen Street Comics. I’ll be signing copies of the book, beverages will be served, and we will be offering a special limited-edition print to anyone who purchases a copy of the book, starting today. I’m really proud of what we’ve created, and hope you enjoy it, too. Can’t make it to Brooklyn? If you’re in the Baltimore area, I’ll be signing at Cards, Comics, and Collectibles next week on 9/28, so please drop by and say hello.

Kitty Pryde and Lockheed - Baltimore Comic-Con 2011
I love drawing these two. Surprisingly, I hadn’t yet drawn Kitty in her Astonishing X-Men costume, but Lockheed always reminds me of my family’s dog, an Italian Greyhound.
